Go Kiss The World by Subroto Bagchi

“GO KISS THE WORLD” were the last words of his mother which inspired him to steer his newly born company MindTree during the time of crisis due to the twin attack on the World Trade Centre in 2001. We are talking about Subroto Bagchi and his highly inspirational autobiography for young professional especially for entrepreneurs Go Kiss the World.

The book is great to read. His words draw the picture for the reader. He is very clear in expressing his thoughts and lessons he learned from his life which could be a great guiding source for any young aspiring entrepreneur.

The book could be a bit drag in the middle when he gives details about his professional career, but the small incidents which he mentions in the book and lesson drawn from them were really heart-searching and inspiring. I always love to read autobiographies of daunting personalities as you can find answers to some of your own mysteries.

Like, Subroto Bagchi talks about mid-life crisis and mid life transition which every person goes through in his life between his 40’s and 50’s.

It explains the situation my father is facing right now. He used to be a very confident person and self made man suddenly started doubting his ability. I was dumbfound to apprehend this transition he is going through. But thanks to the book Go Kiss The World I have found my answer and a way to help him out.

Subroto Bagchi has been an inspirational figure for many and people looked upon him as a role model. But throughout his book, he tells us how he has been inspired by many people his life to become what he is now. His parents, siblings, spouse, colleagues and bosses like
Mahesh Bahree, Ashok Soota, Azim Premji, Dr Sridhar Mitta etc were only a few names to mention.

The book Go Kiss the World has been divided into three parts. First is from his birth to adolescence period covering schooling, college, work at Odisha Government, DCM. Next is his stint with HCL, PSI, MMC, Wipro. With first three companies the author became a hard core salesman. His viewpoints about sales and marketing are mindblowing and guiding for anyone. Before joining Wipro, Subroto with some colleague friends started a company named Project.21

Verdict: Being a businessman himself my father-in-law find the book very intriguing and engaging especially MindTree conception part. Of course he read the hindi version of the book Choom Lo Jahan Ko translated by Saroj Kumar. He took only two days to complete the book while I being a housewife and a part-time blogger took one and half month.

The reason is simple the young and IT professionals and entrepreneurs will find the book very fascinating and rich. What kept me going, though in a slow pace, was through personal anecdotes and simple words of wisdom, Subroto Bagchi brings to the young professional lessons in working and living, energizing ordinary people to lead extraordinary lives. A mother of two, I also realized the good upbringing of children and nourishing and honing them lays a solid foundation of future.

Go Kiss the World will be an inspiration to young India , and to those who come from small-town India, urging them to recognize and develop their inner strengths, thereby helping them realize their own, unique potential.
